Warwick Castle, dating back eleven centuries to King Alfred the Great is Britain’s Ultimate Castle and one of Europe’s leading visitor attractions.
Towards the end of 2013, iC2 completed Phase Two of an Avigilon mega pixel CCTV system installation.
The initial phase, completed in June 2013, entailed a CCTV installation within the ‘heart’ of the castle. The Installation included a number of 5 mega pixel Avigilon CCTV cameras, covering The Great Hall, Queen Anne’s Bedroom, The Blue Boudoir, The Red Drawing Room and The Cedar Drawing Room.
Subsequently, Avigilon mega pixel CCTV cameras have also been located externally to monitor the perimeter, covering distances of up to one kilometre, utilising wireless transmission back to the Control Room.
The integrated security system utilises 20 terabytes of storage on an Avigilon Software Platform. By using Avigilon’s unique lossless compression technology, Warwick Castle’s Control Room now have access to incredibly detailed, high definition footage to be viewed, stored and instantly recalled.
Working with the Castle’s Facilities, Grounds and IT teams, the challenges of cable routes, ancient flooring and aesthetic requirements were successfully overcome by iC2 to deliver an immaculate installation- on time and on budget.
The Operations Manager, Geoff Horwood, commented “To deliver the installation in such a timely and professional manner, in a very challenging environment was a credit to the ic2 team."
