Is your current system still performing and fulfilling its purpose well or is it time for something new?
2. Ensure The Right People Have Access
The human element is perhaps the most important factor in any assessment, and your system could be perfect... but if you aren’t regularly removing active cards, this could become an issue. When someone no longer requires access, their card should be removed from the system or changed to suit a new person. This avoids any confusion as to who is actively accessing the system and whose permissions are no longer necessary.
3. Upgrade Your Technology
Of course, the simplest step you can take is to ensure you're regularly looking at your system, checking it for problems and knowing that one day you may need to update and even replace it. Technology is one of the fastest moving things on earth and an access control system should be examined and updated at least every ten years. This isn't a one- time investment, and you'll need to check that it's up to date in order to get the best performance.
